Multi-Mission Combat Craft Hydrodynamic Performance Analysis and Testing
Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC)
MDD Conducted a hydrodynamic performance analysis of CTC’s Multi-Mission Combat Craft (MC2). MDD developed a hydrodynamic testing plan and sub-contracted to the Marine Hydrodynamics Laboratories at the University of Michigan to conduct the model testing in the ships hydrodynamic test facility. The MC2 testing and analysis were conducted in three phases:
Phase 1 included resistance tests to determine powering requirements in both calm water and in waves.
Phase 2 determined the drag reduction characterizes of an applied low-drag surface coating. Phase III included open water tests to determine the maneuvering characteristics of the craft.
